Good morning Franklin Families.

Happy Sunday….we hope you have had an enjoyable weekend thus far and are enjoying the wonderful weather. Here are your reminders and updates.

Reminders:

1. This Monday (tomorrow) is a PD day. There is no school for students.

2. There is a Lunch and Learn Session if interested this week:

Topic: “When Mistakes Make You Quake”: Supporting kids who struggle with perfectionism

When: October 27 from 12:15 to 12:45 pm

Where: https://zoom.us/j/5441930058?pwd=bFBqMmY2L2VwMzlPVERwOEZGUXRhZz09

Update:

1. Thank you to those who attended our School Council Meeting this past Thursday whether virtually or in-person. The next meetings include Thursday November 17th (virtual format only) and then Thursday January 19th (virtual format only). There is no meeting in December. Please remember that Council is a great opportunity to hear from our student representatives and to hear updates from the school.

2. We had a Lockdown Drill this past weekend and the students did a wonderful job.

3. As we approach the end of October, we remind you to please refrain from bringing in class treats. They are not needed. Students bring lunches that are parent approved, and we have Nutrition for Learning foods if a child is still hungry. We are being respectful to students with various allergies and to parents/guardians who like to be aware of the foods their child is eating. Nutrition of Learning foods on various days include: bowls with cheerios, peanut free granola bars, apple sauce, fruit bowls, yogurt tube or cheese.

4. This Friday is Orange and Black Day!! Please do NOT go out to buy something for this one day if your child does not have something black OR something orange. Although, we are hopeful that most have something black like a hair elastic, socks, a t-shirt with black in it, or runners, etc. – spirit can be shown by enthusiasm as much as it can be by colours.

Quote of the Day:

“Don’t compare me to other children. I will develop at my own pace if I am encouraged to do so.” (Author Unknown)
