Good morning Franklin Parents/Guardians,
Here are your reminders and updates.

Reminders:

1. The winter weather is fast approaching so please have your children put hats, mitts and face warmers in their bags to have available for Monday and the rest of the year. Extra socks are useful as well in case socks get wet but also, if their mitts are really wet. (They are a great substitute if needed). A great time to remind your children that throwing snowballs is not okay at school and nor should they play in snow piles on the road or off parking lots at any time.

2. There is a School Council meeting this week. It is solely virtual this week so we hope more people will be able to attend.

Here is the information to join.

Updates:

1. Save the date as Family night is back! “We are excited to be hosting Franklin‘s annual family night on Thursday, December 8. There will be a bake sale, garage sale, and many family fun events going on in different classrooms! There will also be raffle prizes for those who attend! We can’t wait to see you all there. More details to come soon.”

2. Some presentations for our parents will be coming soon as well. There are a few potential topics we are looking at via School Council include Parenting the Anxious Child, Motivation and or Screen Time (although there is one on this via eventbrite – see below).

There is a free, public presentation on Managing Screen Time on Thursday November 24th via eventbrite at 7 pm. Please register via eventbrite (see below). This is a joint effort between the WRDSB Psychology Department and PCMH (Parents for Children’s Mental Health).

3. A neighbour called stating that some children were playing and hiding in leaves along the road on Bradley street. An announcement was made about not doing this as we as adults know, it can lead to tragedy. Please remind your children to walk on sidewalks and to go straight home after school.
