As per the WRDSB policies and procedures, if the wind chill factor is -20 or more, then the decision will be made to ring the early bell and keep students in at nutrition breaks, based on the mitigating circumstances at that site. (ie. exposure to the wind at a specific school site, are there areas that are protected from the wind, lack of sun, amount of time the students would be outside).  Often administrators will confer with other neighbouring schools and school staff to help in making the decision.

We do want to remind parents to ensure that the children are properly dressed for the weather at all times.  We use the Environment Canada Weather website to determine the actual temperatures and windchills when making our decisions.
