We are almost ready to welcome students to a new learning experience, and are continuing to work to make sure that it will be a smooth and safe start up for everyone. The heart of it will be the same as it has been in the past. Our staff are filled with caring for the Franklin community’s children, and we are aware that our children have been through a difficult time in the past half year. Our first priority is to build a sense of community and to help everyone feel as at-home as possible.

Some things will be different at school. Staff and students will be wearing masks. We will be paying attention to keeping a distance from others, especially in other classes. Classes will have assigned places in the yard for recess times and to meet in the morning.

One thing that will really help children who will be attending school in-person is if they have practice doing what they need to do. That includes practice wearing a mask for longer periods of time, and having an understanding of why we are doing things like washing our hands before touching our mask or our face.

This year will be different. It will have its challenges, but we are a strong community filled with caring people. We can do this.
