Franklin Library News

Franklin P.S. library is now open for business. For the first time in 2 years, both scheduled weekly class periods and open book exchange are available for Franklin students. Students in JK – Gr. 4 have been provided with a large Ziploc book bag to offer protection when transporting the books in their knapsacks. Please encourage your child to use this bag when bringing their library books home. This will help to avoid damage from leaky water bottles etc. Kindergarten students are asked to always bring their book bag to the library with their library books. If this bag is lost or damaged, I ask that you replace it with one of a similar size to accommodate library books.

Your child is responsible for all books and materials borrowed from the library. The loan period for library books is 3 weeks. It is expected that materials will be returned on or before the due date in good condition. Overdue notices will be sent out twice a month and borrowing privileges will be suspended or modified if the overdue materials are not returned. Payment will be requested for lost or damaged books.

Franklin library loan standards are as follows:

JK/SK students: 1 book (bag must be present)

Gr. 1 & 2 students: 2 books

Gr. 3 students: 3 books

Gr. 4-6 students: 4 books

Please check out WRDSB’s online Library Learning Commons for amazing resources and Sora (WRDSB’s digital library). Students may also track their library accounts and renew or reserve library books online. Please go to wrdsb.insigniails.com/library/Home

The student’s WRDSB username and password will log them into this wonderful resource. Check it out!
