Happy October Everyone.
It is hard to believe that a month has already gone by. Here are your updates and reminders:

Reminders:

1. Monday October 10th is Thanksgiving. There is NO school for students.

2. Photo day is Tuesday October 11th.

3. A spirit wear order form was recently sent home to families. If interested, there are some youth samples hanging outside of the office if needed for sizing. Forms are due by October 14th.

Updates:

1. Students have now participated in two fire drills. There will be one more before the winter.

2. This is Walk to School month and if your children can walk to school, they should. Walking to school with you or their friends is a great way to get energized for the school day, to get exercise and be healthier.

3. Students were told about a 2022 National Forest Week Drawing Contest for ages 4 to 12 in celebration of National Forest Week. Handouts were available if they were interested with the drawing theme being, “How do you spend time in the forest?”

4. Senior students are involved in various activities once again. Some activities that grade 6, sometimes grade 5, students may be involved in include announcements, leadership crew, primary classroom lunch helpers, leadership alumni crew, Parent Council student reps and admin/office helpers. We are truly grateful for staff who step forward to lead these opportunities as they are optional and not always possible.

5. The board’s Strategic Plan can be found at https://www.wrdsb.ca/learning/strategic-plan/

6. Carizon’s has some opportunities for families/children that are free. The CRP programming includes the programs below and are taken directly from information provided to us.
