October 30 2022

Hello Franklin Families and Guardians. Happy last Sunday of October! Here are your reminders and updates.

Reminders:

1. As winter slowly approaches, please remind your children to have layers and appropriate clothing, e.g., hats, mitts, etc. With an open field, it can get quite chilly and windy.

2. Please always remember to book appointments with our educators if you need to talk to them. This gives you the time you deserve versus trying to have a quick chat at dismissal or various bell times.

Updates:

1. Our Safe and Inclusive School Team which consists of a community member, parent and student representatives and staff has now met two times. Students are overseeing some activities, with staff/adult guidance, that will occur over Bullying Prevention and Intervention Week (November 20th to 26th) and are helping in the creation of a school plan which will be shared with families when it is completed.

2. Please see the attached letter about Extended Day and the Winter Break Camp from January 3, 4, 5, 6 2023. Please note that this will operate out of Sheppard P.S. on the dates mentioned.

3. Toonies for Tummies for Food4Kids (a service that some of our students/families use) is occurring on November 29th. Please see the attached letter.

Quote of the Week:

“The best solutions come from collaboration between the people with the problems to solve and the people who can solve them.” (Jeff Patton)1. As winter slowly approaches, please remind your children to have layers and appropriate clothing, e.g., hats, mitts, etc. With an open field, it can get quite chilly and windy.
