Good morning Franklin Families/Guardians. We hope you are enjoying your Family Day weekend. Here are your reminders and updates.

Reminders:

1. Please remember that whether you are using the church parking spaces facing Franklin or any surrounding streets to drop off your children, please follow the signs posted, e.g., no parking areas. Also, when dropping off, please make it a “kiss and ride” area (park, drop-off, leave) so that the other cars can park and families can drop off their children and continue on as well, etc. Most importantly though, please remember that there are children in these areas so please be careful and model kindness.

2. There will be two more Council Meetings this year – April 20th and May 17th, Thursday from 6:30 to 8 pm. These are in- person meetings – as it is the preferred mode that we are encouraging – although a link will be provided for those who require it due to conflicts.

3. We have a parent presentation this Thursday evening on Screen Timeand hope to see as many participants as possible.

Given the dramatic increase in screen time use during the pandemic, our understanding about screen time use in young people has changed. The presentation will be focused on discussing some common myths and misconceptions about screen time. Recent research findings about risks, benefits and practical strategies related to screen use in young people will be shared. Additional resources will be provided. Questions and ideas are welcome!

Updates:

1. Our Vice-Principal will more than likely be changing each week if we are lucky to get someone. We thank Ms. Weber and Mrs. Lantink who have been here the last two weeks and this week, we will have Ms. Corman. Feb. 27th to March 1″Acknowledging the good you have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.” (Eckhart Tolle)0th, Mrs. Lantink will be returning.

2. We are really working on children walking through the halls while in single file and to the right. “Tight to the right” is the saying we are using. Please remind them of this procedure as without order in the halls, there is chaos.

3. Thank you to the Council members who attended our School Council meeting this past week. There was some great discussion.

Quote of the Week:
