Dear Franklin Families and Guardians
Hopefully, you are enjoying your long weekend. Here are your reminders and updates for this coming week.
Reminders:
1. There is no school on Monday for students.
2. Please remember that if your child/children are registered in the Extended Day program at Franklin, they follow a safe dismissal policy. This means that if your child is registered for a certain day, this supersedes any last minute changes, calls and or written notes that are requesting a change to the dismissal location. This means that on the day they are registered for Extended Day, they need to be dismissed via a “face-to-face pick up” by Extended Day staff. All of this is done for the safety of your children. Staff have been informed that if a child is on the Extended Day list, they go to Extended Day. Any changes need to be done two weeks ahead. “If you need to make changes to your schedule, please do this online in your onelist (https://regionofwaterloo.onehsn.com/wrdsb) calendar two weeks in advance.
Updates:
1. Toonies for Tummies cards were sent home this past week. All funds will go to support Franklin’s Nutrition for Learning program. If you are able to contribute, please send the card back with a toonie attached! We will be collecting until Wednesday April 19th. Thank you to everyone who has already contributed!
2. There are more Lunch and Learn sessions coming up. Here is the information and links for you.

3. April 12th will be Pink Day at Franklin.
4. Fire trucks will be at the school on Wednesday morning for our Kindergarten classes so please do not be alarmed if you see them.
5. Food Drive is beginning April 18th. See School-Day for more details.
6. After approximately 3 months, intramurals have now concluded as has grade 6 Card Club. Primary and Junior Choir is continuing for a little longer. Running Club for grade 3 to 6 students is beginning and if your child is interested, there is a permission form that a guardian will need to fill in.
