Updates:

1. This is the season where administrators begin to receive class structures, e.g. the numbers of each class, and where placing staff occurs – also known as staffing season. Following this ongoing process, we then begin to place students in classrooms. All of this is TENTATIVE until the end of September/early October.

With respect to placing students, please remember that the intent of school is to learn academic skills/knowledge, develop learning skills, adapt to new people and personalities, learn how to make friends, develop new friendships, learn to understand social settings, and so much more. Saying that, when letters of requests come in, they will be considered but never guaranteed. Please only send a request if your child has needs that we may not be aware of, e.g., recent trauma or diagnosis, and specify what they need. Please do NOT request teachers or peers (unless a severe need requires something or someone specific) as the school is trying to make classes that are well balanced (to the best of our abilities) and that allow children to develop or further develop skills they may or may not have, e.g., learning how to adapt, learning how to make friends, developing certain academic skills.

Quote of the Week:

“In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or step back into safety.” (Abraham Maslow)
