Hello and welcome back to all of our Franklin families. A great big welcome to any new families who are joining Franklin for the first time and to those who are returning. This is an exciting time of year as a new school year is approaching. We hope your children have enjoyed their summers and are eager to return.

We are beginning with our weekly (sometimes more often) reminders and updates so that you are always aware of what is happening from the school front.

Reminders:

1. School starts Wednesday September 4th.

2. Supervision outside begins at 9:05 a.m. in the morning. School officially begins at 9:20 a.m. and ends at 3:40 p.m.

3. Please visit www.stswr.ca/ if you believe your child is a bus student and you have not heard anything up to this point. You will be able to check if they are on that site.

4. First day package information will be sent out on School-Day. Saying that, if your child has a life threatening condition – severe allergies, asthma, epilepsy, or diabetes, etc. – please contact the teacher and the school before or by the first day of school as we need to know that information from the start.

Updates:

1. Your child’s placement will be found on School-Day on the Labour Day weekend. More information about the first day will be forthcoming. Please remember that all classes are tentative until the end of September, early October.

2. Meet the Staff – please see School-Day regarding this event.

3. Save the date – Thursday October 17th – as this is the official first School Council Meeting. Stay tuned for nomination forms if interested in holding a role on Council. Voting day for Council positions is on September 18th. More information will be forthcoming.
