Hello Franklin Families. Here are your reminders and updates for this week.

Reminders:

1. Friday October 11th is a PD day. There is no school for students.

2. A reminder that Franklin’s pizza fundraiser will run from the 29th until Oct. 3rd.The coupon code for families to use is FUND. 50% of sales will go back to Franklin. Valid at 1241 Weber St E Kitchener. The way it works – just order pizza (if you want) and provide the code FUND.

3. It is not too late to donate.Attached, please find the link to our school’s donation page. Our goal this year is to raise $1900.00.

4. Please walk your bikes, scooters, etc. onto school property (adults and children) as children can run out when you least expect (especially if playing a running game), and an accident can result. Please help keep our children safe.

5. Monday September 30th is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. Franklin Public will have an Orange Shirt Day on Monday September 30th to show our support and recognition of these days. (If your child does not have an orange shirt, they can consider wearing red or yellow as they make orange.)

6. To support your student’s safety, we ask that you review and sign the data verification form that your child(ren) will bring home and or have brought home. Please review the information and make appropriate changes, sign the bottom of the form and return to the school by September 30, 2024 (tomorrow).

7. Please go to School-Day, under School Items, Forms and ensure the following are completed.

Updates:

1. Fire Drill #2 will be occurring this coming week. Consider practicing fire drills at home so children know what to do if smoke or fire is present.

2. Please review the Concussion Code of Conduct for Athletes and Parents/Guardians.

3. If you are planning to volunteer at some point in the year, please remember to get a criminal and vulnerable sector check, via the police department.

4. Our sign seems to be back up and working. Trying to figure out a small glitch of a whole red screen at times so as always…..to be continued.

5. Some concerns with bike theft, please ensure your child’s bike is locked.

6. The school had their Terry Fox run Friday. Thank you to Mrs. Beattie, Mrs. Sidhu, and Mrs. Weido for coordinating the event. Thank you for any donations and support for this event.
