Dear Families/Guardians of Franklin Falcons,

Here are your reminders and updates.

Reminders:

1. Family Night is coming up quickly. See School-Day for details.

2. Kindergarten registration is still open…..a School-Day message with more details will be forwarded.

3. March 31st is a PD Day. There is no school for students this coming Monday.

4. Popcorn order pick-ups will be on April 3rd during Family night. Individual popcorn bags will be available for purchase.

5. Stanley Park Eats program runs every Wednesday between 11AM and 12PM. Everyone who arrives can take two meals home (2 handhelds and 2 sides). 

6. The Food Bank of Waterloo Region distributes food hampers right outside Stanley Park community centre every Wednesday from 11AM to 12PM. Guests  need to show that they live within the Stanley Park boundary area, so that means a postal code starting with N2A. If guests arrive for the first time and don’t live within the boundaries, a hamper will be provided after those with the  local postal area have been served.

7. Every Wednesday and Friday evenings a hot meal with a hot side is provided from the hut outside the centre from 6:30 PM to 7: 30 PM. No I.D. or registration required. 

8. Our online spirit wear store is back again and is open until April 4th. There will be some samples for you to check out on Family Night. See School-Day for the link.

9. Last call for an  Artshine opportunity if you would like to sign up your children for Visual Arts. Program Dates:  April 10, 17, 24, May 1, 8, 15, See School-Day for the registration information.

10. Pizza fundraiser is now on – from today,  March 30th, to April 3rd, Sunday to Thursday. Order from Domino’s on Weber Street and for every medium 2 topping pizza for $9.99, the school will receive $4.00 per pizza. Use the code SCHL. Please share this information with friends and family.

11. A three-part series on digital tools for math is coming up starting April 28th. We will re-share details sent last week, closer to that date.

12. Please remember to not park in bus loading zones from approximately 3:20 pm to 3:50 pm

13. Please have your children put extra socks in their bags for when needed and or for the younger ones, pants/underwear if they have an accident and or fall in wet areas.

2. No school on Friday April 18th and Monday April 21st due to the Easter Weekend.

3. Our grade 1 to 3 classes, and our grade 3/4 classes, had a great presentation on How to Catch a Mouse with Simple Machines.

4.Sunnyside Public School at 1042 Weber Street is holding a craft sale this Saturday, March 29 from 10am – 2pm.  40 venders are booked and bringing all kinds of unique and handmade crafts from businesses such as Scentsy, Farmasi, Color Street and more. (Heads-up that the section of Weber Street in front of Sunnyside will be closed that day but the detour will lead traffic around to the back entrance to the Sunnyside parking lot.)
