Good morning Franklin Families and Happy New Year!
It is hard to believe that we are now in 2024 and just about halfway through the school year. We do hope that you enjoyed some time off over the holidays with family and friends.
Here are your reminders and updates for this week.
Reminders:
1. Children return to school tomorrow, Monday January 8th.
2. January 18th is our next School Council meeting starting at 6:30 in our library.
3. January 19th is a PD day for teachers. Information on this day will be sent following this message. There is no school for students in Kindergarten to grade 8 that day.
4. A reminder that our new Head Secretary is now Lara Parks. (Best wishes to Amanda as she begins her new role).
Updates:
1. For parents/guardians of children presently in grade 1. It is time to make a decision about if you would like your child to be in French Immersion for next year. Please visit https://www.wrdsb.ca/french/2023/12/20/attention-families-of-grade-1-students/ for more information. Please note that Phase 1 of the Grade 2 French immersion application process for students born in 2017 opens on January 10, 2024, and will close on January 31, 2024.
2. For children born in 2019 or 2020, Kindergarten registration begins January 15th. Announcements regarding registration for next year will be available at www.wrdsb.ca/kindergarten/ starting January 15th.
3. Before & After School Program Registration for next year will also open January 15, 2024
4. Lunch and Learn sessions continue this month. Here are the upcoming sessions.
