Good morning Franklin Families.

Thank you to those who attended our School Council meeting this past Thursday. It was a productive meeting. On another note, we hope that you are enjoying some wonderful family time this Family Day long weekend. Some ideas for you for Family Day (Monday) include playing a board game together, taking a walk together, playing cards together, putting ideas in a hat of what people would like to do together – picking them out one at a time – and then doing them, etc.

Here are your reminders and updates.

Reminders:

1. Report Cards went home on Friday unless your child was absent.

2. In the report card envelopes, there was a letter about the one mark in literacy and if applicable, a notice regarding vaccinations if they are not up to date.

3. An attendance letter went home with your child on Friday (unless absent) if they have missed over a month of school (over 25 days). Please note that these totals do include illness days but we understand that a child’s health is first and foremost. These letters are to make you aware of how many days have been missed as that impacts student learning, achievement and friendships, but again, we know that when a child is ill, they need to stay home and be in bed.

4. There is NO school on MONDAY!

5. There is a 3 part learning series for using Google Assistive Technology Tools for Organization.
Part One: Share – Part One is now completed.
Part Two: Plan – Part Two is now completed.

Part Three: Organize
Learn about tools that can help your child organize their digital space.
Friday, February 23, 2024 from 12:30 to 1 p.m. (https://meet.google.com/hfb-ymah-rvv)

6. Please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher if you have questions regarding the report card.

Updates:

1. Our second lock-down was done a couple of weeks ago …. sorry for the delay in letting you know.

2. March Break goes from March 11th to 15th. Please note that there is no school for students during that week.
