1. As we support Jump Rope for Heart as a Community, there is a learning to jump program you may be interested in for your child/children (both recreational and competitive jump programs) if they are between the ages of 7 and 12. For more information, email info@kwjumprope.ca

2. A wonderful Track and Field day occurred this past Thursday for our Junior students. Thank you to the educators that organized the event including Mrs. Borris, Ms. Smits, Mrs. Wamsley and Ms. Schmidt. Thank you so very much to all the volunteers that were able to help out. Without a team effort and many hands, it would not have been possible.

3. Grade 3’s had their EQAO testing this past week. Thank you to the classroom teachers and resource teachers who made this a smooth event for the students.

4. A message from Leslie Maxwell, the School Travel Planning Supervisor from Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region: “Bike to School Week 2024 will be taking place June 3-June 7, 2024, and is supported by the Cities of Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo as well as the Region of Waterloo. Bike to School Week is a great opportunity to promote active transport to and from school.”

Franklin has been registered for this but students can also register at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfiKbfQW7WX9FmChL1aQyfmK_vuxqfUjwZIQLiA-F6DC0xYGQ/viewform and try to win Dairy Queen gift certificates.

5. The Humane Society in the Kitchener, Waterloo and Stratford Perth area have different programs if interested. I share them as I know many families are starting to look for summer camps and or have already registered. They have summer camps, PD Day camps, paint nights and more. Please visit kwsphumane.ca for more information.

6. This past Friday had an interesting start to the day. Please see School-Day for the messages sent on this. In the end, students and staff were safe and that is the most important.

Quote of the Week:

“Exercise is a fundamental practice to strengthen well-being. Physical activity helps protect both the body and the mind from disease.”(Whitney Hopler)
