Hello Franklin Families.

Hard to believe that we are already into our second month of the year. Here are your reminders and updates this week.

Reminders:

1. Friday October 11th is a PD day. There is NO school for students. See the former School-Day message on what staff will be doing that day.

2. Don’t forget to follow us on our Franklin Instagram page. Fra_wrdsb.

3. If you are planning to volunteer at some point in the year, please remember to get a criminal and vulnerable sector check, via the police department.

Updates:

1. Fire Drill #2 occurred this week. They did a great job exiting the building and the whole school exited in just under 2 minutes. Well done to our Franklin Falcons.

2. Our Terry Fox Run raised $2093 through the online donation portal and another $333.55 via Toonies for Terry. Thank you to those who supported the run and to those that donated….both very much appreciated.

3. Spirit wear is finally here! Below is the link to our online store where you will be able to purchase student or adult spirit wear. Please provide the student’s and teacher’s name in the notes section during checkout. The spirit wear online store closes by Friday, October 18th. Once the online store has closed, the spirit wear will take approximately 4 weeks to arrive at Franklin. Not sure which size to buy? Check out the size guide on the website, or stop the spirit wear table right near the main office to view sample sizing. This will only be available during office hours, 8:30 am – 4:00 pm. Thank you! See Schoool-Day for the link to order.

“The goal of discipling [a] child is actually to help them develop self-discipline, meaning to assume responsibility for their actions, including making amends and avoiding a repeat, whether [an] authority figure is present or not.” (Laura Markham)
