Updates:
1. We know that some families participate in Halloween and others do not. We are not encouraging the wearing of costumes. Should a student wear a costume to school, we ask that you remind your child(ren) to take care of them as we are not responsible for any damage that may occur when outside playing. We want to make sure that none of the costumes scare our young students in any way, so no masks or props. As with other months of the year, students will have the opportunity to learn about many days of significance and events that connect with them, the staff and the school community. Please refrain from bringing in treats to classes.
2. If interested, Artshine will be running one more session at Franklin. See the details below if interested in signing your child/children for Artshine. It is an outside organization that comes to the school after school. Artshine Winter 1 Registration will open Monday, October 21st, and parents will be able to register and pay for the Artshine program via our website.
Please see School-Day for the link and more information on this.
3. Please note, the School Picture Day is Tuesday October 29. Children will need to bring their lovely smiles that day.
4. Families will receive a proof sheet with an online code to view the student’s images with lots of additional online ordering choices. Proofs will be sent to your school sorted by homeroom, approximately two weeks after photo day for distribution to the students. No cash, or payment will occur at the school, everything will be online via the provider, Pegasus.

8. We had our third fall fire drill. Students exited the building in 1 minute and 45 seconds.
9. Please remember that if you need your child to be picked up during our outside nutrition breaks, please let their teachers and office know so that they are not sent outside.
Quote of Week:
“Every day, in a 100 small ways, our children ask, ‘Do you hear me? Do you see me? Do I matter?’ Their behavior often reflects our response.” ( L.R. Knost)
